We are seeking an accomplished and forward-thinking leader to join our council as Manager Strategy, Performance & Risk.
Reporting directly to the General Manager Governance and Executive Services, this influential leadership role will position you at the centre of strategic planning, organisational performance, risk management and governance initiatives. You will work alongside senior leaders to shape organisational priorities, enhance decision-making and support the delivery of long-term outcomes.
Leading a team of five direct reports, you will foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement and accountability while championing contemporary approaches to strategy, performance measurement, organisational resilience and risk management.
As Manager Strategy, Performance & Risk, you will:
- Lead the development and implementation of strategic planning, performance and risk initiatives across the organisation.
- Partner with executive and senior leaders to translate strategic priorities into measurable outcomes.
- Drive a culture of performance, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Oversee enterprise risk management, business continuity and organisational resilience programs.
- Provide strategic advice and insights to support informed decision-making.
- Identify emerging trends, risks and opportunities that may impact organisational success.
- Lead the ongoing enhancement of governance frameworks, policies and reporting practices.
- Develop, mentor and support a team of five professionals, empowering them to deliver high-quality outcomes and trusted advice.
About You
You are a strategic and commercially minded leader who can see the bigger picture while delivering practical outcomes. Comfortable operating in a complex and evolving environment, you bring the ability to connect strategy, performance and risk into meaningful actions that support organisational success.
You bring a strong understanding of organisational planning, performance frameworks, governance and risk management, together with the ability to analyse complex information, identify emerging challenges and opportunities, and provide sound strategic advice. Most importantly, you are motivated by the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution through leadership, innovation and the delivery of outcomes that have a lasting impact.
You will bring:
- Demonstrated leadership experience in strategy, governance, organisational performance, risk management or a related discipline.
- Proven success leading teams and building high-performing, engaged and capable workforces.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to influence at executive levels.
- Exceptional communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience driving organisational improvement, change initiatives and strategic outcomes.
- The ability to balance long-term thinking with practical delivery and results.
