About our opportunity

As our Senior Structural Engineer, we will look to you to provide specialist technical advice based on best practice structural design principles, relevant standards, guidelines and Council policies on the structural components of transport infrastructure  projects.

This is an opportunity to expand on your experience in bridge design and civil structures such as culverts, retaining walls, manholes and gully inlet pits.

You will be kept busy as you work on multiple projects at once and have opportunity to experience one of the many benefits in working for Local Government seeing your quality work delivered and benefiting the local community.

Reporting through to our newly appointed Team Leader Civil Structural, you will initially form part of the dynamic duo and quickly establish yourselves as the trusted source of advice on civil structures in the City’s transport planning and design team.

You will be a natural communicator, confident to be a subject matter expert and build those key stakeholder relationships both internally and externally.

You'll also:

  • assist with structural reviews of transport infrastructure designs
  • assist with structural assessment of existing transport structures
  • assist with the preparation of concept designs for transport structure solutions that respond to user needs.
  • support the development and updating of relevant Council policy and design standards for bridge and civil structural components.
  • provide technical input into the annual capital and operational works programs and assist in their review and update.

  • degree qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering.

  • demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at once.
  • RPEQ registration and Bridge Inspection Qualifications are desirable, but not mandatory.

If you are seeking a new challenge in a growing organisation, working on diverse projects that you get to actually see come to fruition in the community, and keen to experience genuine work/life balance... this may be the opportunity you have been waiting for!
