  • $94,415 - $108,874pa + 12% super + leave loading
    Qld Local Government Industry Award (Stream A) - Level 5 - 6 of EBA5
    The appointed wage level will be dependent upon the successful candidate's level of experience, skills and qualifications. 
  • 9 day fortnight
  • 72.5 hour fortnight
  • Hybrid, flexible working environment, including some work from home days.
  • Location: Strathpine

About our opportunity

Our Project Management department delivers 550+ projects each year, worth approximately $180M. The team contracts 80% of the capital program via pro-active and innovative annual delivery processes, working across the whole of project life including design, procurement and delivery, and ensure adherence to time, cost and quality and safety objectives. Projects are located across our region and include construction of footpaths, park, intersections, roads, sport fields, coastal assets, buildings and fit outs. 

Our Project Engineers support Project Managers across a mix of asset classes, implementing and maintaining project controls and contract management, preparing project reports, status updates and procurement recommendations. In this role you'll also be:

  • Reviewing and audit engineering drawings and technical specifications for construction projects 
  • Assisting with co-ordination of construction issues and consulting with the Project Manager on appropriate resolutions of works under the contract
  • Providing construction surveillance, auditing projects against construction and workplace health and safety standards and 
  • Contributing to a high performance, continuous improvement and customer focused team culture
  • Building strong relationships and working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.

About you

We're looking for experience Site and Project Engineer with experience working on complex construction projects (greater than $750k), and strong knowledge of Australian Standard construction contracts and related construction legislation, Australian standards, Workplace Health and Safety requirements. You'll also have:

  • Applied understanding of quotation documents, design drawings, specifications, schedules
  • Sound knowledge and application of current  and accepted work practices
  • Considerable experience providing advice on contract related matters 
  • Considerable knowledge of project management and engineering principles and practices
  • Excellent time management skills to manage conflicting priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills to communicate planning concepts and matters in a simple and concise manner 
  • Actively contributed to a healthy, inclusive and well-connected workplace
  • Degree in architecture, civil engineering, or project management, or relevant experience in a similar role
  • Construction Induction Card competency (required)
  • Current C class driver’s licence (required).
