We have a large internal construction team and we are often on the search for labourers to work on a suite of Civil Construction and Maintenance projects across our City, so are calling for expressions of interest for current and future opportunities.

  • Permanent Full Time
  • $67,642 pa (includes industry allowance and uniform allowance) + 12% super + leave loading
    Qld Local Government Industry Award (Stream B) - Level 3 of the EBA5
  • 9 day fortnight
  • 76 hour fortnight
  • Work Location: Site based - please note, whilst these positions have allocated home depot locations, the work will be based across various sites within the area and our team members will start and finish on the job site
  • Home Depot Locations (dependent on available position): Caboolture, Burpengary and Petrie - both the Petrie and Burpengary depots are moving to a Narangba location later in 2024. 

About our opportunity

As one of our Construction Labourers you will be working as part of a smaller team which is lead by a Construction Supervisor and working to support City of Moreton Bay's project delivery. You'll be performing civil duties on various construction and maintenance projects predominantly related to stormwater drainage, road rehabilitation and landslip remediation works which will involve general labouring duties, safely using and maintaining any equipment provided and establishing good working relationships across the internal construction unit as well as with other City of Moreton Bay team members and the public.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have demonstrated experience in a range of civil construction activities with a focus on general labourer tasks, ability to communicate and engage constructively with a variety of people and ability to learn and adapt to changes within the workplace (such as working at differing sites or technology enhancements relative to the role).

Safety is a key priority for us as an organisation, and we will be seeking candidates who not only have the knowledge and physical ability to safely undertake the manual tasks required in this role, we want you to have a genuine desire to contribute to a positive safety culture.

Paired with the above-mentioned skills and experience, you will also hold a  Construction Induction card and a current drivers licence (minimum C class) with the ability to obtain your truck licence (minimum MR - medium rigid) within 6 months.
