The details:

  • TRP from $252,673pa (base from $222k)
  • 5 weeks annual leave (+ additional annual closedown leave)
  • Full Time Contract  - 4 years
  • 38 hour week
  • Hybrid, flexible working environment, including some work from home days.
  • Location: Strathpine, with free on site parking and located right next to the train station to make for an easy commute

This is an exciting time to join our team! As a newly created leadership role, this position offers a timely opportunity for you to bring your ideas and help shape the future direction of Council’s digital solutions.

Reporting directly through to the General Manager, you will lead the teams focused on delivering advanced analytics, automation, data science and product development. We'll look to you to:

  • Build our new data environment and aggregation platform (City Brain).
  • Collaborate with industry partners to productise Council’s digital and data assets.
  • Lead the evaluation and deployment of productivity tools, including artificial intelligence.
  • Consolidate and redefine our use of smart technology, including internet of things and remote data capture.
  • Lead the design and implementation of new ways to capture and use data, including the use of edge processed CCTV data, LiDAR and third party data - while establishing new partnerships with industry and agencies.
  • Provide leadership and direction to 15-20 team members, building capacity and establishing the City of Moreton Bay as a centre of excellence for data management and value creation.

About you

You bring extensive experience in digital, data, and technology roles, and are excited by the opportunity to apply your expertise at the City of Moreton Bay.

As a natural people leader, you have a proven track record of building teams that align technology strategies with business goals and security requirements in similar environments.

You possess a strong understanding of software, hardware, and product development using methodologies such as DevOps and Agile. You also have valuable insights into evolving technologies and how they can be applied to enhance operations.

With your demonstrated success in building industry partnerships and developing innovative ways to use and productise data, you’ll quickly become a valuable member of our team.
