The details:

  • Permanent Full Time | 9 day fortnight
  • $112,372pa + 12% super (level 7)
    Great news - EBA6 currently is underway, with a proposed increase of 5% effective 1 July 2025
  • 72.5 hour fortnight
  • Hybrid, flexible working environment, including some work from home days.
  • Location: Strathpine, with free on site parking and located right next to the train station to make for an easy commute.

Join City of Moreton Bay in this key leadership role within our newly established Enterprise Project Management Office (ePMO), and help deliver projects that shape and enhance our communities - today and into the future.

This is an exciting time to come on board! With our new General Manager now in place, we’re looking for five new team members to help design and implement a high-quality, fit-for-purpose ePMO function here at Australia’s third-largest council.

Reporting to the ePMO Implementation Manager, you'll be responsible for leading cost planning, monitoring and reporting across the ePMO’s portfolio. 

This is a key role for the team as we look to you to deliver strong financial governance, forecasting accuracy and alignment with budgeting frameworks.

You will provide portfolio-wide financial insights and strategic advice to support decision making, mitigate risk, and ensure long-term financial sustainability of projects. We'll also look to you to:

  • Report on financial tracking and trends across all projects managed by the ePMO.
  • Support strategic and operational planning by developing financial projections and cost modelling.
  • Ensure adherence to Council’s financial control frameworks, policies and approval processes by influencing and advising project leads and senior stakeholders, working closely with Financial Services.
  • Provide early insights into financial risk, cost pressures, burn rates and under/over performance, presenting recommendations for corrective actions as required.
  • Lead the automation and continuous improvement of project financial processes, systems and reporting tools.

About you

We are seeking someone experienced in financial management, accounting or cost control within a complex organisation... ready for that next challenge!

You will be highly proficient in financial systems, forecasting tools, financial modelling and data visualisation relevant to large-scale project cost management.

With your high-level analytical approach and ability to interpret complex data, you’ll be confident in explaining cost drivers and providing strategic advice to stakeholders on emerging trends and risks.

You’ll bring a solid understanding of governance, probity and compliance expectations in Local Government or a similar regulatory framework, and ideally have some exposure to capital works planning.
