  • $117,991pa to $125,339pa + 12% super (level 7)
  • 72.5 hour fortnight
  • Hybrid, flexible working environment, including some work from home days.
  • Location: Strathpine

Join City of Moreton Bay as a Team Leader Road Manager Functions and help shape and enhance our communities for today and tomorrow. 

Council has identified opportunities to improve how we undertake our Road Manager functions, particularly in relation to temporary traffic management, and this role offers an exciting opportunity to be a key part of this organisational change.

As our Team Leader you will lead a skilled team in delivering safe, efficient and compliant road management solutions.

You’ll provide technical expertise, guide strategic traffic planning, and collaborate across Council and industry to ensure best-practice outcomes for our transport network.  We'll look to you to:

  • Drive Technical Leadership – Lead and mentor the Integrated Transport Planning and Design team in delivering Road Manager functions.
  • Shape Traffic Management – Oversee the implementation of measures to improve Council’s temporary traffic management permits and Traffic Guidance Schemes process.
  • Collaborate Across Council – Work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver integrated transport solutions.
  • Represent Council – Act as the primary liaison with regulators and industry partners, including NHVR and Department of Transport and Main Roads.
  • Manage Standards and Reporting – Manage the day-to-day operation of Council’s temporary traffic management permit and Traffic Guidance Schemes approvals.  Maintain traffic management drawings, ensure compliance, and oversee budgets and performance reporting.

About you

We are seeking someone who has proven expertise in traffic and transport management, with a particular focus on temporary traffic management functions with a Local Government Environment. 

You will bring the ability to develop and instigate clear and concise process for our road manager functions and the ability build strong internals and external stakeholder relationships. You'll also bring:

  • Industry and stakeholder knowledge with established external relationships.
  • Extensive experience coordinating amendments and approvals for traffic management plans, guidance schemes, and oversize/over mass vehicle permits.
  • High-level technical advisory skills to address transport issues, deliver practical solutions - create a compelling reason for us to act now on key infrastructure.
  • Strong legislative and standards knowledge with applied understanding of policies and best practice.
  • Analytical capability to review and interpret complex technical reports, plans, and development proposals.
