The Details:

  • Permanent Full Time | 9 day fortnight 
  • $74,199 pa  (ie. $37.55/hour) - incl. industry and uniform allowance + 12% super (level 3) - effective 1 July
  • 76 hour fortnight
  • Location: Petrie - please note, this position location will be moving to our Narangba Depot in the near future

Preserve and enhance our community’s parks, gardens and open green spaces. Working closely with a Crew Leader on a designated run, you’ll play a key role in maintaining Council’s valuable green assets so they remain safe, functional and enjoyable for the community.

This hands on role involves delivering a range of regular maintenance activities across parks, streetscapes and open spaces. Work is typically structured across a planned run, supporting the consistent upkeep of assigned areas and contributing to high quality presentation standards.

Some of the tasks include:

  • mowing parks, nature strips and open green spaces
  • mulching and weeding
  • pruning and planting
  • brush cutting and hedging
  • spraying and removal of debris and litter
  • driving a truck and trailer

The role also involves operating a range of plant and equipment, maintaining tools and machinery, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required standards. A strong team focus is essential, working closely with your crew to deliver outcomes on time while maintaining a safe and tidy work environment.

About you

You have experience working in parks, landscaping or a similar outdoor environment and are comfortable undertaking a range of manual tasks as part of a crew. You’ll also bring:

  • Experience in grounds maintenance or similar labouring work
  • The ability to safely perform manual tasks in an outdoor environment
  • Experience using tools and plant such as mowers, brush cutters or similar equipment
  • A willingness to work as part of a designated run/crew and follow direction
  • A strong focus on safe work practices and maintaining equipment
  • Reliability and a positive, team focused approach

Requirements:

  • Current truck licence (minimum MR - medium rigid)
  • Construction Induction Card (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement)
