The Details:

  • Permanent Full Time
  • $75,865 pa + industry allowance and uniform allowance + 12% super (level 6)
  • Please note, progression in remuneration (up to Level 8) is available for this position upon meeting performance and training requirements outlined in a structured crew leader framework.
  • 9 day fortnight
  • 76 hour fortnight
  • Location: Margate

 

As a Parks Infrastructure Crew Leader, you'll lead a team undertaking operational maintenance and minor construction activities, focusing on Council's park and open space infrastructure, such as playgrounds, exercise equipment, shelters, shade sails, park furniture, BBQs, fences, bollards and retaining walls.

As the Crew Leader on site, you will also be required to take the lead with: 

  • identifying and allocating relevant resourcing and materials for required tasks or projects 
  • identifying and providing suitable solutions to safely address issues on park and open space infrastructure 
  • developing and reviewing plans and maintenance schedules and maintaining associated records 
  • engaging with a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders

About you

Ideally, you will have current or recent experience in a similar role maintaining parks and open space infrastructure and leading a small team. You will bring demonstrated skills in infrastructure maintenance, the use of relevant tools and equipment, team leadership, administration and technology, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills to build positive relationships with stakeholders.

Paired with the above skills and experience you will also:

  • Current MR Class driver’s licence
  • Construction Induction Card
  • A Certificate III in Landscape Construction, trade qualification in Carpentry or a similar relevant qualification is highly desirable upon application, and will be mandatory to progress through the Crew Leader Framework.
