Expressions of interest are being called for the Chair of the Audit Committee. Bring your experience in Governance, Compliance, Finance, Audit, Risk Management, and/or Cyber-Security.

Council is seeking an independent member to fill the vacancy of Chair of the Audit Committee. The successful applicant will have relevant experience as an Audit Committee Chair, experience working with LGAs, tertiary qualifications in a related field and be able to provide specialist knowledge in one or more of the following fields:

  • Governance and compliance
  • Finance/Audit
  • Risk management/ Cyber-Security.

Council operates a diverse portfolio to meet the local community's needs while complying with legislative requirements.

Council's Audit Committee operates under Section 265 of the Local Government Regulation 2012. The Committee's role is to oversee and monitor the effectiveness of Council in carrying out its responsibilities for accountable financial management, good corporate governance, maintaining an effective system of internal control and risk management, and fostering an ethical environment. The Committee meets a minimum of four times a year.

Council is offering the following term of appointment:

  • Chair of the Audit Committee – September 2026 - September 2030.
