As a Site Operations Team Leader you'll help keep essential services running safely, efficiently and compliantly while supporting better environmental outcomes for a growing community.
You'll lead a team responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a major waste management facility, oversee landfill, transfer station and resource recovery activities, manage contractors, support regulatory compliance and drive continuous improvement across the site.
You'll also:
- Manage daily site activities and competing priorities.
- Ensure compliance with environmental authority conditions and legislative requirements.
- Oversee site safety, environmental performance and risk management.
- Build productive relationships with regulators, contractors and internal stakeholders.
- Lead and develop operational teams.
- Identify opportunities to improve service delivery, resource recovery and operational efficiency.
- Support the financial management of facility operations.
- Participate in on-call arrangements and undertake weekend work as required.
Position Description - Site Operations Team Leader
About you
We're looking for your extensive experience managing landfills and waste facility operations including implementing statutory and best practice environmental management, weighbridge operating systems and knowledge of and experience in the Queensland government waste levy. You'll also bring:
- Demonstrate a high standard of governance and risk management practices
- Strong experience in building productive relationships at all organisational levels
- Strong experience developing team capabilities and fostering a healthy, inclusive and well-connected workplace
- Ability to lead self and others through change in a large complex organisation
- Current C class driver’s licence required
- Construction Induction Card competency required
- Employees appointed to this position are required to be fully vaccinated against Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, and Tetanus.
