  • Permanent Full Time
  • $68,884 pa + super (up to 12%) + leave loading - please note, progression in remuneration (up to Level 8 - $72,838 pa and a commuter use vehicle plus super) is available for this position upon meeting performance and training requirements outlined in a structured crew leader framework.
    Qld Local Government Industry Award (Stream B) - Level 6 of the EBA5
  • 9 day fortnight
  • 76 hour fortnight | 6:30am - 3:30pm 
  • Location: Burpengary & Petrie (multiple positions) - please note that these depot locations will be moving to a Narangba location later in 2023. Whilst these positions have dedicated home depot locations, the work will be based across various sites/locations.

About our opportunity

Our Construction Crew Leaders deliver assigned construction tasks by leading a team of internal and external resources (typically a small work crew and contractors) and undertaking general labouring duties on construction projects as required. You will be interpreting job plans, conducting survey set outs of projects and consistently running construction projects ranging in size, scope and complexity. This position will see you engage with a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders whilst also ensuring the principles of safety, quality assurance and environmental risk management are being applied correctly throughout the construction projects allocated. 

About you

Ideally you will have recent experience in a similar position requiring a similar skill set. You will also have knowledge of relevant construction materials, capability of plant and equipment - including hand tools and knowledge of survey principles and current survey technology as well as construction specifications and standards. You will also have demonstrated experience in the day to day leadership of Construction teams (including contractors) or similar on a range of projects and have proficiency with or ability to develop proficiency with a range of technology (tablets, computers etc.) and software programs as required by this position.

Paired with the above listed experience you must have a current truck licence (minimum MR) and a Construction Induction card. You will either hold or be willing to obtain a high risk work dogman (DG) licence and Electrical Awareness certificate within 6 months of commencement. Our Crew Leaders are required to either hold a Certificate III in Civil Construction or another relevant qualification or be willing/able to obtain within 12 months of commencement and this qualification will be mandatory to progress through the Crew Leader framework. Whilst not mandatory, Traffic Control Level 1 & Level 2 or equivalent is highly desirable.
