    (increasing to $79,563 pa effective 1 July 2024)

  • 9 day fortnight
  • 72.5 hour fortnight
  • Hybrid, flexible working environment, including some work from home days.

About our opportunity

Our Asset Management team manages the implementation, review and maintenance of Council’s strategic Asset Management practices to manage our assets in an integrated and effective way that meets the needs of the City of Moreton Bay Regional community. Our assets include roads, paths, buildings, public amenities, parks, drainage, street lighting and coastal assets.

As the Field Validation and Technical Officer, you’ll be conducting field inspections using RTK GPS  receiver and smart device to review, collect and update asset management data including; the confirmation of “As Constructed” information, undertaking condition analysis, and recording defects and compliance information. You’ll also be:

  • Undertaking data integrity and data improvement activities to improve the quality information in the asset management system and GIS
  • Preparing, updating and maintaining Feature Manipulation Engine (FME) scripts for field surveying and spatial asset capture
  • Participating in data maturity assessments in order to implement the data maturity roadmap
  • Contributing to Asset Design and As Constructed (ADAC) future revisions
  • Contributing to a positive team environment to achieve a high performance and a continuous improvement culture
  • Engaging proactively with key stakeholders to ensure that asset management service outcomes are achieved.

The team are committed to a collaborative and flexible work culture and in office on Tuesdays and Thursdays while the rest of the week days all staff work from home.

About you

We’re looking for your experience completing field inspections using GNSS receiver and smart device to review, collect and update strategic asset management data, and:

  • Proficiency using GIS software and experienced in data capture, manipulation and extraction, and FME and python scripting experience is desirable
  • Knowledge of asset management systems, practices and processes
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office required. Experience with TechOne, GIS, ArcGISPro, ADAC, Esri highly desirable
  • Time management skills to manage conflicting priorities and meeting deadlines
  • Sound relationship management skills to communicate and motivate effective at all levels
  • Certificate IV in Surveying or equivalent or demonstrated relevant experience
  • Current C class driver’s licence (required).
