  • $98,435 pa + super (up to 12%) + leave loading
    (increasing to $101,880 pa effective 1 July 2024) Qld Local Government Industry Award (Stream A) - Level 6 of EBA5
  • 9 day fortnight
  • 72.5 hour fortnight
  • Location: Brendale….with travel to venues as required.

About our opportunity

We are on the search for an experienced collections manager to fill this brand-new role within our Cultural Services Department.

Reporting directly to the Heritage and Museums Coordinator and partnering closely with the Gallery team…you will provide specialist collections and conservation advice to ensure effective maintenance of art and heritage collection items, which will include conservation, preservation and restoration of our current collection.   

In addition, you will manage and lead the operations of our storage facility including planned and reactive maintenance schedules, security and HVAC systems and forward planning for improvements. You will play a key role in ensuring the Galleries and Museums teams are supported to deliver their high quality exhibitions programs. As projects arise, you will supervise small project teams to deliver the required collection outcomes.

About you

We are looking for an experienced cultural collections manager, passionate and knowledgeable in the restoration, preservation and conservation of museum and gallery objects/artworks!

You will bring your expertise in the management of cultural facilities, coupled with your excellent communication and time management skills, to support concurrent exhibition and program schedules across our three galleries and three museums.
