  • $67,199 pa + 12% super + leave loading
    Qld Local Government Industry Award (Stream B) - Level 5 of EBA5
  • 9 day fortnight
  • 76 hour fortnight
  • Location: based between Caboolture & Redcliffe District Lawn cemeteries, with work across the region

About our opportunity

We are looking for a Cemetery Officer to join our Customer Response team! Our team services eight cemeteries across the region, these include Albany Creek, Bribie Island, Caboolture, Dayboro, Lawnton, Redcliffe, Samford and Samsonvale.

As a Cemetery Officer, you will work within a small team to provide quality cemetery service operations that meet our community needs and ensure our cemeteries are maintained at a high standard for internments, privacy and reflection.

This will be achieved by:

  • maintaining cemetery grounds and related infrastructure (including gardening)
  • installing headstones and plaques
  • preparing grave sites for burials (excluding grave digging)
  • placements of ashes in columbarium walls and memorial gardens
  • correctly using and maintaining plant and equipment

About you

You will have the ability to communicate both written and verbally and engage positively with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

The key skills we are looking for include:

  • time management skills to ensure you can comfortably complete and schedule work within strict timeframes
  • communication and interpersonal skills to ensure you can communicate with grieving members of the public in a sensitive and courteous manner
  • compliance with safety procedures to ensure you can undertake manual tasks in a safe, conscientious manner
  • high attention to detail to ensure sensitive information and tasks are undertaken accurately and appropriately
  • the ability to work autonomously across various work sites, and within a team to undertake a variety of tasks

Successful applicants must be willing to obtain a Construction Induction Card prior to appointment and hold a current Class ‘C’ Drivers licence.
