  • $34.68 per hour + 12% super
    Qld Local Government Industry Award (Stream A) - Level 1 of EBA5
  • Saturday’s from 9:00am - 2:00pm   
  • Locations: Burpengary, Bribie Island, Deception Bay, Arana Hills OR North Lakes (we will ask your location preference/s in the application form)  

Are you interested in pursuing a career in libraries? This NEW Entry-Level Library Assistant position is the perfect opportunity to kick start your profession! 

As a Library Assistant, you will provide library customers with positive service experiences and general assistance with their use of library resources and services. Our team will provide on the job training and support in order to achieve this, as well as provide guidance so you can undertake the following:

  • assist patrons with using computers, internet and navigating the library catalogue.
  • provide guidance with self-service options for loans, returns, printing and copying.
  • process customer loans, returns, reservation requests, payments, and updating membership records.
  • assist in the promotion, preparation and delivery of library activities and programs.

This entry-level role will be rostered to work on Saturdays, so would be ideal for students or people seeking weekend only work.

About you

We are seeking expressions of interest from people with a genuine interest in being a positive member of our library team. 

You will have the technical skills to provide basic assistance on the public computers and library catalogue, and the ability to effectively communicate and interact with our customers and stakeholders.

You will hold a valid Working with Children Check (Blue Card) or be willing to obtain prior to commencement with us.
