Join City of Moreton Bay as a Principal Procurement Specialist and help shape and enhance our communities for today and tomorrow. As a senior member of the team, you will be responsible for the implementation of best practice procurement across a range of procurement specialisations including Sourcing, Category Management, Contract Management and Supplier Relationship Management. This role provides specialist procurement advice for strategically important contracts/procurement matters and drives the delivery of value for money through the development and execution of best practice procurement strategies.
Additionally, you will:
- lead strategic negotiations with internal and external stakeholders including suppliers
- write formal reports, business cases and other complex correspondence
- contribute to the active identification, development and implementation of strategic procurement opportunities
- build and maintain high level relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and work in a collaborative team environment to ensure efficient and accurate procurement outcomes are achieved.
- provide leadership, guidance and training to other procurement members
About you
We are looking for someone that has extensive procurement experience in end-to-end strategic sourcing activities and a strong commercial background, by directly performing the associated procurement planning, market engagement, evaluation planning and assessment, negotiation planning and activities, contract award and ongoing contract management (including supplier relationship and performance management).
You will contribute towards our goal to be an accountable, transparent, engaged and responsive organisation committed to great customer experiences and continuous innovation in service delivery, sourcing and category strategies.
Good comprehensive knowledge of local government tendering and procurement legislation and procedures would be desirable, with highly developed interpersonal skills and relationship managements skills to communicate, lead and motivate others to achieve positive and desired outcomes.
