The Financial and Project Services department provides a range of corporate support functions that assist with the operation of all areas of Council. These functions include the processing and payment of approximately 60,000 supplier invoices per year, the processing of the fortnightly payroll for Council’s 1,700+ workforce, the provision of strategic advice and assistance on procurement matters, and the levying and collection of approximately $320 million in rates and utility charges each year. The Financial and Project Services department is committed to providing a high level of service to other Council departments and the community.

About the Role
We are excited to be introducing a new opportunity into Moreton Bay Regional Council, a Manager Community Engagement. As our Manager Community Engagement, you will work collaboratively with Council stakeholders to develop and maintain a Community Engagement Strategy and Framework that meets the needs of the community. The framework you create will demonstrate Council's commitment to diversity and inclusion and will ensure our priority of facilitating the implementation of strong and effective community engagement strategies is reflected.

Moreton Bay Regional Council is committed in ensuring the community needs are heard and understood by Council within a structured evidence-based framework; and as The Manager Community Engagement you will lean into the opportunities we have to ensure our community is listened to. Additionally, you will be overseeing and coordinating community engagement services for a wide range of Council operational initiatives including strategic planning, capital works projects, cultural services needs and asset maintenance work that impact the Moreton Bay Regional Council community.

Embedding yourself in these activities means from time to time you will occasionally outside normal working hours, including weekends. This new role is both unique and emerging and you’ll have the opportunity to build a team to support you in bringing this work to life.

About you
We’re looking to leverage your experience in delivering significant community consultation projects for the public sector, preferably local government as a key in the delivery of this role. Your demonstrated experience building strong relationships across a diverse range of stakeholders and exceptional verbal and written communication abilities are a must, and ideally you’ll have Tertiary qualification in an appropriate discipline (eg business, public relations, communications, media) and /or equivalent experience within Community Engagement along with and International Association for Public Participation (IAP2) Certificate.

Package: $199,490 - $221,655 total package including super and benefits

Work Location

Please note that whilst the current work location for this position is specified above, staff may be required to transfer to any of council's work locations with notice. Council currently has administration offices located at Caboolture, Strathpine and Redcliffe as well as depots, libraries and a range of other facilities located throughout the region.
