This role sits within our Property Services Department, which manages Council’s commercial property portfolio and Regional Leisure Venues. The Department seeks to maximise commercial returns to Council through the acquisition, leasing, and disposal of properties, and management of assets including aerodromes, public swimming pools, the Queensland State Equestrian Centre, Redcliffe Entertainment Centre, Morayfield Sport and Events Centre, and caravan parks. The Department employs approximately 65 positions and manages an annual operational budget of approximately $21M, with revenues in excess of $10m.
About our opportunity
Our Property Services team has an exciting opportunity available for a proactive and experienced Senior Land Dealings Officer, to undertake a range of land dealing activities and provide technical advice in accordance with policy, procedure and legislation.
As a point of contact for land dealings, you will be exposed to a wide variety of property matters and be required to liaise with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including property owners and consultants. You will undertake the document preparation, lodgement and registration processes, which will include Titles Queensland documentation, Department of Resources documentation, notices of intention to resume, commercial and retail leases, licences, consents and easements.
We are looking for a candidate who thrives on and enjoys working in a varied and fast paced role, where no two days are the same. You will have broad property dealings experience, preferably within local government and hold a tertiary qualification in law or property.
In addition, you will have a detailed knowledge and thorough understanding of the legislation relevant to government property acquisitions, disposals and the establishment of infrastructure easements, as well as experience in commercial leasing. A high attention to detail and proven time management and communication skills will be essential to ensure you can manage conflicting priorities and meet deadlines, and the ability to liaise with a range of stakeholders while upholding Council’s values is important.
To be successful in this role, you will also have well developed and demonstrated people and relationship skills, with a proven ability to work in a small team environment. You must be able to contribute to a positive work environment and have a strong focus on the provision of quality customer service.
Term: Maximum Term Full Time - 12 months
Award/Level: Qld Local Government Industry Award (Stream A) - Level 5 of the Moreton Bay Regional Council EBA4 Certified Agreement
- $84,340 pa + super (up to 12%) + leave loading
- 72.5 hour fortnight
- 9 day fortnight
