Location: Petrie (The Mill)
Award/Level:  Qld Local Government Industry Award (Stream A) - Level 8 of the Moreton Bay Regional Council EBA4 Certified Agreement
Total Package: Up to $155,748.55 (includes super, leave loading and 10% allowance in recognition of any additional overtime, external market remuneration conditions and Council’s operational requirements of this position)

The role:

As our Coordinator Waste Planning and Compliance, you will lead the management of waste strategy implementation, planning, compliance & reporting services. You will participate in the roll out of exciting programs in line with recent federal and state policies and strategies, aiming at achieving resource recovery and circular economy outcomes. You will have accountability for the technical and scientific management, operational support, planning, compliance and reporting aspects of council’s Waste Services. 

Additionally you will:

  • Lead the Technical & Compliance Team, Environmental Team, Administration Team and University Students to deliver quality waste and resource recovery services for Council.
  • Build high level, effective and positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve quality service delivery outcomes whilst supporting resource recovery within a constantly changing environment.
  • Develop relevant business cases in support of improved waste management and resource recovery, as well as driving, planning and implementing waste and resource recovery projects.

About You:

With ample experience and knowledge in the principles of planning and delivery of waste management services, you will have natural tendency towards high standards of governance and risk management practices. You will balance that with a progressive, innovative and open mindset, with a strong emphasis on achieving waste management’s federal, state and local government strategies outcomes. Your experience in leading multidisciplinary teams in a fast pace environment will be essential to actively contribute to creating a healthy, inclusive and well-connected workplace.

Additionally, you will have:

  • High level of experience in the end to end planning and delivery of a range of waste strategy practices.
  • Applied knowledge of sound financial practices within a legislative environment.
  • Tertiary relevant Qualifications and significant experience in Waste Strategy delivery, Current C class driver’s licence, Current Queensland general construction induction card (white card).
