About the Opportunity:

The team are seeking an enthusiastic part time Project Officer who can work within this fast-paced team to develop and deliver economic development programs and initiatives as outlined in the Regional Economic Development Strategy.

This role is 14.5 hours per week and our Economic Development team are happy to work with you to find the best days and hours to suit your needs. With team culture playing a crucial part in the success of this dynamic team, you will be available to be in the office for at least half day each Thursday, with the other days of the week negotiable.

As a part of the Economic Development department team you will: 

  • assist with the planning and execution of programs & initiatives that help to develop the local economy and priority industries and respond to identified needs
  • research/investigate initiatives that support industry advancement and provide opportunities for businesses to generate new opportunities and contribute to regional growth 
  • develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • provide high-level administrative support across a variety of functions; events, workshops, external briefings & maintaining records/databases.

About you: 

You will have experience supporting the development and delivery of economic development programs and initiatives. Ideally you will have a tertiary qualification in economics, marketing and/or Certificate III in Business Administration or relevant experience.

In addition, you will bring:

  • highly detail oriented administrative skills with attention to produce work in a fast paced and highly professional team environment
  • excellent time management skills and the ability to understand organisational time frames and expectations 
  • highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with a variety of stakeholder internally and externally.
