This role sits in the Buildings and Facilities team, under the Asset Maintenance department of the Project and Asset Services division within Moreton Bay Regional Council. The Asset Maintenance department is responsible for the maintenance and renewal of Council’s assets throughout the region. The areas of responsibility are primarily Roads and Drains, Parks, Cleansing, Construction, Fleet and Building and Facilities infrastructure. The Asset Maintenance department is one of the largest departments within Council, maintaining essential community infrastructure across the Moreton Bay region.

The role

Your responsibilities will include providing operational support and technical assistance in the planning, delivery and management of buildings and facilities operations, maintenance and projects - including the management of multiple maintenance contracts and external contractors, investigation of alternate solutions, cost estimation, procurement and site work implementations as well as tendering and project managing assigned capital & operational projects and undertaking the preparation of technical standards and project development activities in a supervised environment. 

You will be contributing towards the management and delivery of Council's defects management system and programmed maintenance - including scheduling, budget and progress reporting and provision of advice for the annual budget development. Additionally, you will be undertaking assigned technical audits and investigations generating technical reports for the consideration of management and providing technical advice to assist in managing the maintenance activities of contracted services within the specified Council standards. 

More specifically this position will have you looking after HVAC Contract Management for both corrective and preventative maintenance, split system and RAC renewals, OPEX HVAC&R projects and Asset Life-cycle Reports across all of Council's Buildings and Facilities. 

Requirements

To be successful in this role ideally you will have experience working within a similar role, experience managing maintenance contracts and an understanding and experience applying contemporary project management practises. You will also have a well developed ability to prepare and present clear and concise technical reports, experience in the preparation and interpretation of a range of qualitative and quantitative data, the ability to integrate within a team and demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Additionally, you will hold a degree qualification in Mechanical engineering recognised by Engineers Australia or a similar qualification in a relevant field. You will also hold a current C class driver's license and a Construction Induction Card.

Award/Level: Qld Local Government Industry Award (Stream A) - Level 5 of the Moreton Bay Regional Council EBA4 Certified Agreement

Remuneration: $84,340 pa + super (72.5 hour fortnight) + any applicable allowances
