  • From $98,435 pa up to $105,192 + super (up to 12%) + leave loading
    Qld Local Government Industry Award (Stream A) - Level 6 of the MBRC EBA4 Certified Agreement
  • 9 day fortnight
  • 72.5 hour fortnight
  • Hybrid, flexible working environment, including some work from home days.
  • Location: Strathpine

We look after both the water quality and quantity of the stormwater in nearly a thousand lakes, wetlands, bio-basins and other water bodies, over 2,400 kilometres of piped stormwater systems and more than 900 km of creeks and rivers. About our opportunity

As a Environmental Planner you will provide specialist planning expertise and undertake moderate to complex planning investigations for a range of stormwater and/or coastal projects to meet the needs of the community. 

You will act as a technical expert and provide leadership and guidance to team members in the delivery of stormwater infrastructure planning and policy matters to drive integrated and sustainable planning outcomes.

You will have the opportunity to support project-based community consultation including representing Council at a range of customer meetings, community and business forums. 

Known internally a Senior Stormwater Planner. 

About you

We are seeking someone who is ready to bring their stormwater infrastructure planning knowledge and strategic land use skills to our team!

Key skills you will bring; 

  • being keen to work collaboratively to navigate the complex approvals processes that exist in these environmentally sensitive areas
  • your interpersonal skills to work with different specialist across council and prepare and present of planning reports and recommendations
  • excellent advisory abilities to influence infrastructure design to best meet the needs of both internal and external stakeholders
  • an ability to apply critical thinking, reasoning, evaluation and decision making skills to the investigation and successful delivery of stormwater and/or coastal infrastructure projects.

You will hold Degree in Planning, Environmental Engineering/Science or equivalent and it is highly desired if you hold Post Graduate qualifications in Environmental Engineering/ Science or Planning.
