  • Permanent Full Time
  • $94,194 pa + super (up to 12%) + leave loading
    Qld Local Government Industry Award (Stream A) - Level 6 of the MBRC EBA4 Certified Agreement
  • 9 day fortnight
  • 72.5 hour fortnight
  • Hybrid, flexible working environment, including some work from home days.
  • Location: Strathpine

The primary focus of our Drainage Waterways and Coastal Planning department is to plan, manage and design the region's coastal, stormwater and floodplain management infrastructure, including built and natural form assets, consistent with Council's corporate strategic vision, policies and strategies. 

About our opportunity

As a Senior Stormwater Planner your key responsibility will be to ensure our stormwater infrastructure projects are planned, designed and delivered in accordance with the requirements of local and state legislation and policy.

Join the team as our specialist planning expert and undertake planning investigations for a wide range of stormwater and coastal projects. As a part of this team you will work closely with a passionate team of planners and engineers working to deliver stormwater infrastructure solutions to meet the needs of the community within the Moreton Bay Regional Council area.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • act as a technical expert providing leadership and guidance to team members in stormwater infrastructure planning and policy matters
  • prepare and/or coordinate the preparation of permit applications to satisfy local and state government legislative requirements for a variety of stormwater projects within waterways and coastal environments
  • building strong relationships and engage with internal and external stakeholders - develop your network and be a part of a dynamic and driven team 

About you

We are seeking someone who is ready to bring their planning knowledge and skills to our team! You will have experience in local and state approvals processes as they apply to the delivery of stormwater infrastructure projects in local and state waterways and in the coastal environment. We are looking for a planner who is keen to work collaboratively to navigate the complex approvals processes that exist in these environmentally sensitive areas. 

You will have the chance to work with lots of different specialist across council and prepare and present of planning reports and recommendations. You will be an expert advisor and have the ability to influence infrastructure design to best meet the needs of both internal and external stakeholders.

Bring your ability to apply critical thinking, reasoning, evaluation and decision making skills to the investigation and successful delivery of stormwater and/or coastal infrastructure projects.
