About our opportunity

As a Waste Management Facility Operator, you’ll be involved in the full day to day operations using a range of heavy/medium/light plant machinery. You’ll also be identify issues that impact the environment, and safety of the work site and managing possible risks.

In a typical day, you’ll be part of the operations at the waste management facilities, working in accordance with Environmental safety conditions, Site Based Management plans, Landfill Operator Guides and Manuals, and the Workplace Health and Safety Act and Regulations.

You’ll be supporting the Waste Services department and be an integral part of the team delivering the outputs in the landfill operations and other waste facility operations. You’ll also complete end to end admin processes, practices and procedures as required.

About you

You’ll be successful in this role when you work constructively and efficiently as a part of the team and using your great written and verbal communication skills.

You’ll also have a sound level of experience in a range of operational tasks in a regulated work environment, similar experience working in a similar position

To be eligible you’ll need a current HR class drivers license, and a Construction Induction card (used or obtained within the past 2 years, or be willing to obtain). You’ll also need current competency to operate the following machines:

  • RIIMPO321F – Conduct civil construction wheeled front end loader operations
  • RIIMPO322E – Conduct civil construction tracked front end loader operations
  • RIIMPO316E – Conduct self-propelled compactor operations
  • RIIMPO320F – Conduct civil construction excavator operations
  • RIIMPO308F – Conduct tracked dozer operations
  • RIIMPO315E – Tractor Operations
