    Qld Local Government Industry Award (Stream A) - Level 2 of EBA5
  • 9 day fortnight
  • 72.5 hour fortnight
  • Hybrid, flexible working environment, including some work from home days.
  • Location: Caboolture

The Strategic Planning and Place Making Department takes a strategic approach to long term planning and policy development to shape the growth, urban form, accessibility, and liveability of our region whilst managing natural hazards and protecting and conserving our natural resources, environment, and heritage. The department’s plans, programs and initiatives are structured to meet the requirements of the Southeast Queensland Regional Plan and related State legislation, in addition to supporting local demands and needs.

This Business Support Officer role will provide administrative and business support to the Strategic Planning and Place Making Department teams to ensure effective and efficient delivery of departmental operations.

Additionally, you will: 

  • prepare correspondence, briefing notes, presentations, and other business documents.
  • assist in the review and update of resources, including template letters, forms, and customer service reference information
  • provide a high level of customer service to both internal and external stakeholders
  • assist with customer enquiries and Technology One processes including tracking and resolution
  • work collaboratively with the Senior Business Support Officer and other business support staff across the division

About you:

We are seeking a highly adaptable Business Support Officer who thrives in a fast-paced working environment. You will bring your excellent administrative and time management skills to this role and have strong communication and well-developed people and relationships skills to contribute to a positive work environment.

You will have:

  • experience providing administrative support and assistance, including the preparation of quality correspondence and documentation
  • sound knowledge of administration practices and procedures
  • well-developed organisational skills and work ethic with the ability to work autonomously
  • proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of programs and the ability to develop proficiency with council’s corporate systems
  • excellent interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage with stakeholders through all levels of the organisation.
