This role sits in the Roads and Drains team, under the Asset Maintenance department of the Project and Asset Services division within Moreton Bay Regional Council. The Asset Maintenance department is responsible for the maintenance and renewal of Council’s assets throughout the region. The areas of responsibility are primarily Roads and Drains, Parks, Cleansing, Construction, Fleet and Building and Facilities infrastructure. The Asset Maintenance department is one of the largest departments within Council, maintaining essential community infrastructure across the Moreton Bay region.
Your responsibilities will include allocating and delivering assigned maintenance by working with and leading a team of operational staff as directed. You will be required to perform bitumen repair and patching duties, undertake general labouring on construction and maintenance projects and identify roads/drainage infrastructure defects and their causes while correctly identifying materials and repair methods.
As the Crew Leader you will be required to lead the team by providing guidance, planning daily work - including measuring and calculating quantities of materials required and maintain records accordingly, developing and reviewing plans and maintenance schedules and engaging with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
To be successful in this role you will have demonstrated experience with asphalt and experience in the operation of a Flocon bitumen repair/patching unit and knowledge of capability of other plant and equipment. You will have sound experience in the day to day management of small teams and ability to undertake a range of administrative and technology activities in a manner that is appropriate in the relevance of this position.
You will also hold a Certificate III in Civil Construction, a current MR class driver's license, a Construction Induction Card, a current TMI qualification and a Dogman Ticket (HRW DG license)

Remuneration: $61,763 pa + super (76 hour fortnight) + applicable allowances
