The details:

  • Permanent Full Time | 9 day fortnight 
  • $101,881 pa + 12% super + leave loading
    Qld Local Government Industry Award (Stream A) - Level 6 of the EBA5
  • 76 hour fortnight
  • Location: Narangba

This position will play a crucial role in supporting our internal construction team. You will deliver expert technical guidance throughout the preconstruction, construction and post-construction phases, ensuring the successful execution of civil construction projects with a focus on roads and stormwater.

Your contributions to the effective and efficient delivery of infrastructure projects will include: 

  • developing traffic guidance schemes, contract documentation and providing technical advice on safety, quality and environmental factors 
  • providing advice on complex cost estimates of construction projects and strategic advice on other constructability considerations 
  • managing the administration of contracts through all stages of procurement, award and construction 
  • ensuring compliance in line with legislative requirements and Council's inspection plans, specifications and standards through regular on site inspections throughout the construction project cycle 
  • identifying and investigating any on site issues and providing advice on elements such as safety, constructability, practicality 
  • developing and implementing improvements to systems and processes, focusing on best practice in quality assurance procedures and delivery outcomes 

Additionally, you will be responsible for proactively engaging and fostering strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to facilitate seamless project delivery.

About you

Ideally, you will have demonstrated recent experience in a similar position, supporting teams delivering civil construction projects. This role will utilise your comprehensive knowledge and experience in civil engineering practices and procedures, extensive civil estimating skills, and understanding of construction and financial practices. You'll also leverage your knowledge of the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices and experience in developing TMR accredited designs for Traffic Guidance Schemes to guide external parties providing these services.

Mandatory role requirements include: 

  • a current driver's licence (minimum C class)
  • a construction induction card
  • either demonstrated substantial relevant experience or a tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering (or another related field)
