The position sites within the Integrated Transport Engineering (ITE) team which is one of five teams within the Integrated Transport Planning and Design Department.
The primary focus of the team is to design and project coordinate a wide variety of integrated transport projects that meet the communities needs and corporate vision with a range in value between $2M and $200M. ITE also lead the road safety, technology advancements such intelligent transport systems and urban traffic control for the regions transport system and is looking to continually grow and trial new innovations in these key areas.
About our opportunity
As our Senior Technical Officer - Traffic Systems you will assist in planning, design and operations of the traffic signal network and other intelligent transport systems (ITS) as it relates to the transport network to ensure a safe, efficient and optimised transport network to meet the needs of the community.
You will undertake analytical processes to identify and implement transport network solutions, provide technical input into the annual capital and operational works programs and liaise with Queensland State Government agencies and internal/external stakeholders on traffic operations matters
You will have the opportunity to shape, plan and deliver the Intelligent Transport Systems program and Urban Traffic Control programs for Council that is looking to innovation and trials of new technology to support the high growth of the region and keep up with technology advancements.
You will be a part of a team who design and deliver projects up to the value of $150M due to the high growth and demands. You will gain major project experience in a Local Government setting and be a part of leading the charge to deliver major road projects for the 3rd Largest Council in Australia.
About you
We are seeking someone who has knowledge and experience in traffic signal planning and operations and contemporary best practice intelligent transport solutions.
You will have sound ability in applying investigative, analytical and research skills with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings associated of intelligent transport systems devices including but not limited to traffic signals.
You will have excellent written skills with the ability to preparing and presenting technical reports and proposals. You will have the ability to engage and build relationship with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
