Council’s Property Services team plays a pivotal role in some of the most exciting community projects across the Moreton Bay Region.

Council’s Property Services team helps to contribute to 3 main strategic aims:
- Secure property - Property Services is a lynchpin in delivering crucial community projects by ensuring that sufficient land is acquired in a timely manner to ensure successful project completion.
- Manage property - Property Services manages a diverse range of commercial properties, from office buildings and retail shops right through to caravan parks and aerodromes. That’s not to mention our motor sports facilities and tourist attractions!
- Commercialise property - Property Services aims to maximise revenue from its unique commercial property portfolio in order to fund important community projects.

About our opportunity
As our Senior Land Dealings Officer, you will undertake a range of land dealings activities in accordance with legislative requirements and act as a point of contact for related matters.
You will provide advice and act as point of contact for land dealings related to Council’s property portfolio in accordance with legislative requirements, undertaking research as required and undertake the compulsory acquisition of land process in accordance with the requirements of the Acquisition of Land Act 1967.
As a Senior team member you will be a technical expert with a can do attitude and actively contribute to a positive team environment to achieve a high standard of performance within this dynamic and close-knit team
About you
We are seeking someone who is proactive with detailed knowledge of the legislation relevant to government property acquisitions, disposals and the establishment of infrastructure easements.
You will be a natural and effective communicator with strong negotiation skills and commitment to building relationships with a range of stakeholders - from residents, internal departments and external agencies and organisations.
As you will be working within a fast-paced role and preparing high quality documentation, it is equally important that you can demonstrate through your work experience - a high attention to detail and time management skills that can effectively manage conflicting priorities and deadlines.

You will hold a Degree in real estate, property or law or have experience in a similar role and have a collaborative approach.
