Our Building and Facilities Planning Department works in partnership with all Divisions of Council with a focus on long and medium term planning services for Council Owned and Operated, Corporate, Commercial and Community Leased buildings portfolio of assets.
We achieve this through provision of mix use of internal and external resources. The department provides internal engineering and technical advice and approvals, life cycle assessments, search, trial and business cases for implementing of energy efficiency and other building management technologies, development and implementation of strategic, master and tactical planning services and policy, standards and guidelines making for Council's buildings and facilities consistent with Council's corporate strategic vision, policies and strategies.
We are also responsible for procuring, contracting and providing contractor and consultant management for planning related operational projects.
About our opportunity
As our Building Works Planning Team Leader you will, lead and manage a team responsible for the delivery of short-term tactical building works planning services and the provision of specialist technical and design office advice and input into matters relating to Council’s building works programs and projects.
You will mange a program of works that require tactical planning and portfolio of building projects including options analysis, prioritisation and facilitation of community and stakeholder consultation.
This is a leadership role and you will support the development of team capability to drive a high performance, continuous improvement and customer focused team culture.
About you
We are seeking someone who has comprehensive knowledge and experience in tactical building works planning and the ability to respond to complex building planning issues.
This opportunity is a leadership role so you will have the ability to motivate and support your team. You will be a communicator working with a range of internal and external groups inclusing elected officials and our executuve leadership team.
You will have highly developed investigative, analytical and research skills, including proficiency in the use of a range of software applications used to record, manipulate and present data including proficiency in the use of Revit, AutoCAD,BlueBEAM, Adobe & Microsoft Office suite of software.
You will have a Tertiary qualification in Building Design, Architectural, Engineering, Building Quantity Surveying or extensive relevant work experience. You will hold or be willing to obtain a general Induction Licence (White Card) and have a current C class driver’s licence.
