The details:

In this role, you'll primarily operate a roller, along with other medium sized machinary on a daily basis. You will have the opportunity to alternate between operating a roller, backhoe and/or grader where trained and licenced. Your main responsibilities will involve performing road and drainage maintenance tasks alongside our regional rural roads team, with a focus on gravel road maintenance. 

Key duties include:

• Operating various medium sized plant equipment, primarily the operation of a roller 
• Switching between different machines (roller, backhoe, grader) as required/licenced
• Conducting daily pre-start inspections on relevant plant and equipment
• Reporting any defects, safety concerns or issues related to the machinary or ongoing projects
• Assisting in road and drainage maintenance activities, focusing on gravel road maintenance

About you

Ideally you will have recent experience in a similar machinary in comparable environments, particularly with rollers used in civil construction and maintenance tasks. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team are essential. Safety is also a key priority for us as an organisation, and we will be seeking candidates who not only have the knowledge and physical ability to safely undertake the manual tasks required in this role, we want you to have a genuine desire to contribute to a positive safety culture.

Paired with the above mentioned skills and experience, you will also hold a current truck licence (minimum class - HR - heavy rigid), a Construction Induction Card and Certification in the operation of Roller (LR) and at least one other of the below:

• Backhoe (LB) - highly desirable
• Grader (LG) - desirable
• Excavator (LE) 
• Skid Steer (LS)
• Front End Loader (LL)
