We are seeking a casual Venue Assistant to join our fun and energetic team at the Redcliffe Entertainment Centre (REC)!
The REC is an exciting performing and creative arts space that caters for the cultural needs of local and regional audiences. The venue can be hired to facilitate and cater events and activities for over 400 people, 7 days a week.
Our venue team are on the frontline delivering outstanding customer service to staff, clients, patrons and contractors. This position will focus on hospitality and event services, undertaking several duties within the venue including:
- assisting with daily operational procedures including opening/closing, event set up and pack down, stock replenishment and cleaning
- assisting with kiosk operations including food and beverage preparation and delivery in accordance with food and liquor license regulations
- event support including ushering, ticketing, cleaning & traffic management
You will be employed on a casual basis across a 7-day roster with late night shifts. It is anticipated hours will average up to 15 per week, however this is subject to change based on venue demand and the working environment.

About you
We’re looking for hospitality all-rounders who are driven to deliver exceptional customer service with a vibrant, positive and motivated attitude.
You will have excellent time management skills in addition to a love for assisting with event preparation and delivery.
Successful applicants will also have experience in providing:
- front of house and back of house café operations
- cash handling and utilising Point of Sale (POS)
- duties that require frequent and correct manual handling (lifting, moving, pushing, pulling)
- responsible service of alcohol and food safety
To be eligible for an immediate start at the venue, you will also hold a current Working with Children Blue Card. The following certifications will also need to be obtained within 3 months if not held:
- current Qld RSA - Responsible Service of Alcohol certification
- current First Aid & CPR
