Your responsibilities will include managing the activities of the Public Space Permit team, including the application, compliance, enforcement and approval processes for events and use of public space in accordance with Council’s policy, local laws, Land Act and other relevant legislation. You will manage the planning, development and implementation of projects specific to the community and commercial use of public space along with providing high level, professional strategic advice to the Managers and the Director. Including effectively managing relationships with external agencies such as DTMR and QPS as well as constructively dealing with any customer service/complaints referred for action.
To be successful in this role you must possess a Bachelor degree or formal relevant qualifications and extensive relevant experience working with legislation that includes State Legislation, Local Laws and Land Act. As well as experience in leading and empowering others, developing and coaching team members and fostering a workplace culture consistent with Council’s corporate values. You will also have a high level of interpersonal and communication skills with particular emphasis in the areas of advocacy, liaison, consultation, building effective relationships and teams, negotiation, conflict resolution and assertiveness with the ability to meet changing organisational needs within a diverse and political environment.

Council’s office locations have local parking on-site and are in close proximity to public transport networks.
Please note that whilst the current work location for this position is specified above, staff may be required to transfer to any of council's work locations with notice. Council currently has administration offices located at Caboolture, Strathpine and Redcliffe as well as depots, libraries and a range of other facilities located throughout the region.
