The Customer Response Department

The CS Department is made up of Local Laws and Public Health streams including Immunisation and Cemeteries, Customer Services and Business Support. Customer response provides front line service delivery and aims to provide a high standard of positive and proactive service experiences. The Department is responsible for servicing and regulating matters on behalf of Council and to work with our community to achieve voluntary compliance.  

The role

As the Team Leader of Local Laws program team and Parking Patrols team you will provide leadership, support and guidance by providing advice on complex, escalated and sensitive issues and as you are the subject matter expert, you will be expected to keep up-to-date with changes in legislation and appear as a witness representing Council at Court, Tribunals and other hearings as required. Other responsibilities will include addressing emerging and escalated matters and identifying and action process improvement and service enhancement opportunities. A focus of the role is to also lead the delivery of Council’s regulated parking program, including targeted parking regulation initiatives, lead the conduct of Council’s annual regulated dog audit program, ensuring the timely completion of inspections and animal owner compliance with conditions and develop an annual program delivery plan that manages peaks and troughs, optimises resource availability and effectiveness and provides flexibility to respond to new issues.    


We’re looking to leverage your excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills, experience in working in a political environment and extensive knowledge of relevant legislation (including Local Laws and State Legislation) regulations, standards, and policies is a must. Along with your highly developed skills to conduct research and to be innovative in preparing strategic documents, while meeting the needs of the Local Government environment as a key in the delivery of this role and you'll have Tertiary qualification/s in an appropriate discipline (eg Bachelor Degree in business) or similar disciplines or demonstrated learning in the Local Law/Local Government workplace is essential.

This role with Council offers excellent working conditions, generous employer funded superannuation benefits (up to 12%) and a 9 day fortnight in addition to four weeks paid annual leave per year.

Council’s office locations have local parking on-site and are in close proximity to public transport networks.

Work Location

Please note that whilst the current work location for this position is specified above, staff may be required to transfer to any of council's work locations with notice. Council currently has administration offices located at Caboolture, Strathpine and Redcliffe as well as depots, libraries and a range of other facilities located throughout the region.
