This role will see you driving a small team to effectively deliver information to our diverse workforce of over 2,200... informing, influencing, motivating and inspiring them to act in line with our values and strategic priorities using a variety of communication channels and tactics.
This is a diverse communications role where you’ll get to sink your teeth into a range of projects and activities, connect with and engage a range of specialists across Council, and help celebrate the incredible work our team members are delivering for our communities.
No two days will be the same, as you lead and support your team with:
- Drafting and implementing communication plans that ensure our channels are being used to get the right message to the right audience.
- Helping to create messages from our senior leaders to team members - including email content, presentations, video scripts and more.
- Developing regular newsletter and operational updates that connects, inspires and informs team members. Sourcing content, writing engaging copy, working with stakeholders, ensuring accuracy.
- Designing collateral (such as posters, screen savers, graphics) for exciting campaigns that will be distributed through internal channels to reach our diverse audiences using the Adobe creative suite and/or Canva.

About you
You have a way with words, and an eye for design - you know how to make content sound and look good!
You have a high attention to detail, but that doesn’t stop you from being creative and thinking outside of the box.
You are organised and meet deadlines but always leave a bit of wriggle room to complete tasks that come up at short notice.
You’re a natural at collaborating and building relationships with stakeholders, experienced in coaching within your own team and with subject matter experts.
Most of all, you’re passionate about what you do because you know how powerful an engaging communications campaign can be!
