    Qld Local Government Industry Award (Stream A,) - Level x of the MBRC EBA4 Certified Agreement
  • 9 day fortnight
  • 72.5 hour fortnight
  • Hybrid, flexible working environment, including some work from home days.

The Strategic Infrastructure Planning Department takes a multidisciplinary and collaborative approach to developing long term infrastructure strategies, plans, policies and standards to guide sustainable infrastructure provision for our communities, both current and future.  The Department’s program is developed to create an innovative approach to integrate planning across Council’s open space, community infrastructure, transport, water cycle (including flood mitigation) and coastal infrastructure networks in a financial, social and environmentally sustainable and resilient manner.  

Key projects for the Department currently include maintaining and amending the Local Government Infrastructure Plan, developing a Coastal Hazard Adaptation Strategy, Integrated Transport Strategy, Open Space Plan, Community & Cultural Places Plan, Integrated Water Management Plan as well as undertaking the infrastructure planning to support Council’s growth areas such as Caboolture West and Morayfield South.

 

About the Opportunity:

As our Principal Strategic Infrastructure Planner - Transport you will provide specialist infrastructure planning expertise to contribute to the development and delivery of strategic planning and policy activities for Council’s transport infrastructure networks.

With the development of a new Integrated Transport Strategy almost complete, you will have the opportunity to develop and deliver long-term, regional infrastructure planning, strategies and policy having regard to relevant statutory, policy and financial provisions and Council direction to drive integrated and sustainable planning outcomes. 

You will undertake complex transport infrastructure network planning, master planning, costing and prioritisation for key planning projects including the Moreton Bay Infrastructure Plan, Local Government Infrastructure Plan amendments and Growth Areas Management program and the provision of strategic advice in accordance with legislative, policy and business requirements.

As a part of this role you will help to finalise and deliver the new integrated transport strategy and assist with the development of the supporting plans - you will have the opportunity to work across departments within council and work closely with external stakeholders. 

About you:

We are seeking someone who has extensive experience in integrated transport infrastructure planning, strategy and policy development activities, experience in project management and delivery of complex infrastructure planning and policy projects. You will have experience in providing strategic advice in line with local government legislation and transport planning principles and best practices.

You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong professional relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.

Your written capability will be well refined with practiced skills to develop and deliver technical reports and proposals in a clear and concise manner.

You will hold a Degree in engineering, urban planning, civil engineering and/or another relevant field.
