    Qld Local Government Industry Award (Stream A) - Level 7 of EBA5
  • 9 day fortnight
  • 72.5 hour fortnight
  • Hybrid, flexible working environment, including some work from home days.

About our opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a leader to join our team at Strathpine! Our Community Planning and Policy team is a growing, dynamic team committed to achieving great outcomes for our communities.

You will work on some of Council’s key strategic projects within the new Community Wellbeing Strategy, shaping community wellbeing and social policy in for the City of Moreton Bay. Your role will see you leading projects that embed the principles of equity, wellbeing, and inclusion into Council’s planning for and delivery of community services and programs. These projects will see you working across a range of social policy spaces examining access and inclusion, housing and homelessness, social impact evaluation, gender equity, and more! Reporting to the Community Development and Planning Manager, you will work closely with officers directly supporting community organisations and stakeholders, to interpret their needs into policy that supports strong and sustainable community outcomes. You will develop a detailed understanding of the region’s diverse communities through review of demographic and consultation data and assist officers to integrate these insights into service and business planning.

About you

We are looking for someone committed to inclusion and eager to drive change. You’ll have great people skills and enjoy building relationships to find new ways to approach challenges and find opportunities. You’ll be someone who can interpret policy into action. 

You will have:

  • significant knowledge of community planning and policy frameworks
  • experience in social research and data analysis
  • an understanding of the role of local government in responding to social policy
  • knowledge of contemporary trends and challenges experienced by diverse communities and community organisations
  • a passion for cakes/slices/coffee!
